Fifty-something Shona Aurora McMonagle is a proud former pupil of the Marcia Blaine School for Girls, but has a deep loathing for Muriel Spark’s novel The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, which she thinks gives her alma mater a bad name.
The school’s raison d'être is to make the world a better place. Shona, impeccably educated and an accomplished martial artist, linguist and musician, is thrilled to be selected by Marcia Blaine herself to travel back in time and make previous worlds a better place. She is allowed one calendar week to accomplish her task.
But, despite all her accomplishments and good intentions, Shona may have got the wrong end of the stick about her missions. As the body counts rise and her own life is threatened, it’s always a nail-biting race against time.
